The DSPS-Prominent® is the latest advancement in the renowned Double Shell Positioning System (DSPS®) product line. With its unique cantilevered frame and expansion of the treatment area to the full head, neck and shoulder region, DSPS-Prominent® offers personalized comfort and high treatment accuracy.

A unique feature of this new, advanced DSPS-Prominent® MR Safe system is the ability to bend the mask frame along the slope of the cantilevered baseplate, creating a solid shoulder fixation, providing an angled area in the mask that is adapted to the patient's anatomy, thus creating a personalized shoulder fixation. This will reduce translations and rotations in the head, neck and shoulder region, provide improved reproducibility and above all increased comfort.

DSPS-Prominent® Maskless

When used without a face mask, the DSPS-Prominent® provides a therapist-friendly, patient-centered approach for head & neck positioning using only a posterior shell supported by surface-guided radiotherapy (SGRT). By removing the top mask, therapists can offer treatments that are more comfortable and less anxiety-inducing for patients, while maintaining confidence in reproducible setups.

This approach is particularly helpful for patients who are claustrophobic, have mask intolerance, or require special accommodations. Despite the absence of a top mask, DSPS‑Prominent® maintains submillimeter reproducibility and high setup stability, comparable to traditional full-mask setups. Clinical data demonstrates minimal intrafraction motion and few interruptions, allowing therapists to consistently meet precise PTV margins and reduce time spent on repositioning.

From a workflow perspective, the maskless setup simplifies daily patient positioning and reduces the complexity of set-up, while optical surface guidance serves as a continuous backup. This empowers therapists to focus on accuracy, efficiency, and patient comfort simultaneously.
